The United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority’s letter was titled ‘United Kingdom SAFA Ramp Inspection Report’, with reference numbers ‘CAA-UK, -2024-0217’ and ‘NATS Management System Safety Report’.

The NCAA has in turn written to Air Peace, seeking clarification on the safety violation issues raised by its UK counterpart.

In the letter, dated May 14, the NCAA said concerns were raised about Air Peace’s use of electronic flight bags on flights without operational approval and how the flight bags affect safe operation.

The letter also referenced the CAA stating that the aircraft’s captain had admitted to using the electronic flight bags for navigational purposes, as against the safety stipulation of the regulator.

The letter noted how the CAA had stated that there was “no mounting device for the use of EFB, no charging points or battery for backup”.
