Two unnamed police officers in the United Kingdom (UK) are to face a gross incompetence meeting for not promptly intervening in a domestic dispute that led to the murder of Taiwo Abodunde, a Nigerian, on her property.Abodunde was beaten to death with a skateboard by Olubunmi, her husband, on November 28, 2023.After the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) carried out an investigation, it was found that the two Suffolk Constabulary police officers had first responded to a report of a domestic incident at Abodunde’s address on November 27.READ ALSO: Andrew Ochekwo, Suspect ‘Shot Dead’ by Nigerian Police in Transit, Wanted in UK for Sexual AssaultOn the same day, Olubunmi was arrested for common assault and assault causing actual bodily harm. Olubunmi was taken into custody. He was released on bail later that evening.The two officers returned to the address the next day for a pre-arranged meeting with Abodunde but were unable to make contact with her.
