The minor’s case gained prominence on X on Wednesday after Miyakee (@mimara_concept), her cousin, announced on social media that she was missing.

He said that they suspected she was kidnapped by a male customer who regularly patronised her mother. The customer was said to have sent the girl on an errand on the day he disappeared with her.

At first, he asked the family to meet him under Sango Bridge to pick her up but then stopped taking his calls and then his number became unreachable.

FIJ reported on Saturday how Omolola Odutola, the Ogun State Police spokesperson, falsely denied that officers at the Sango Division demanded N40,000 to report the case of the minor.

However, two days after her claim Adejobi confirmed that they indeed demanded money to act on her case.
