An explosion occurred in Jos, the capital city of Plateau State, on Tuesday morning.
The blast happened sometime around 10:30 am near the Terminus Market area, The Punch reported.
There were speculations that many people suffered varying degrees of injuries. A few were feared dead.
Witnesses said the scene of the explosion was chaotic as residents fled to safety.

Following the explosion, emergency responders visited the scene to aid victims.
The cause of the explosion was not yet known at press time.
The Plateau State Police Command had also not spoken about the incident. Alfred Alabo, spokesman for the command, was not reachable as his phone was switched off when FIJ called him.
On January 16, a similar explosion rocked Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. That incident was caused by explosives stored in a building close to other residential apartments.
