Bakuani Diavisi, a 25-year-old resident of Cardy Rock, Balbriggan, in Dublin, Ireland, has been announced as the fifth suspect in an ongoing Gardai investigation to bring the killers of Quam Babatunde, a Nigerian asylum seeker, to justice.

Irish Times reported that Diavisi was arrested on Wednesday by the police and was made to appear before a Dublin court on Thursday.

After Diavisi chose not to give any response in court when he was asked for a plea response, he left the judge with no option but to remand him in custody.

The suspect was said to have blown a kiss to a woman in the court’s public gallery instead when he was asked the question. The judge adjourned the case until March 4.

Before Diavisi’s arrest, four other suspects had been arrested since an investigation aimed at revealing Babatunde’s killers commenced.

The four previously arrested suspects are Sean Forde, Ryan Ndede, Rory Carr and Jeffrey Bangu.

Before his death, 34-year-old Babatunde had been living in an accommodation centre for asylum seekers in Dublin, pending the outcome of his international protection application.

Babatunde was stabbed three times in the chest and subsequently lost his life in an unprovoked attack during a Valentine’s night row at a Dublin nightclub on February 15.
