A Lagos resident, who simply wishes to be identified as Oluwadamilola, has narrated how Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) refused to reverse a failed N134,400 transfer she made to her account.

Speaking with FIJ, Oluwadamilola said the incident happened on November 21.

“I made a transfer of N134,400 to a beneficiary that operates a Sterling Bank account on November 21, but the recipient, a company, never received it,” Oluwadamilola told FIJ on Thursday.

“Initially, I thought the sum would be reversed to my account within 24 hours, so, I was not immediately worried. But when I waited for many days and the sum was neither reversed nor pushed to the recipient, I sent emails to both GTB and Sterling Bank, seeking to know the status of the transaction.

“It was only Sterling Bank that responded to me, stating that the money was not in its possession and that I should liaise with GTB, my bank, for a resolution.

“Since then, GTB, has refused to reverse my N134,400 back to my account. I even sent the session ID of the transaction to them but they have refused to return my money to me.

“It has been a month and six days since I made the transfer.”

FIJ sent an email to GTB’s e-fraud and customer care units for a reaction to the transaction dispute on Thursday, but there was no response at press time.
